Knife attack used in failed robbery

Police Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Castle Road, Studley near to Tesco car park between 7.15 and 7.30 pm on Friday 20 January to please come forward and contact them to assist in their enquiries around a failed robbery during which a man suffered injuries to his hand.

The failed robbery is believed to have occurred when the man was returning to his car parked in Castle Road, Studley near to Tesco car park. He was approached by a man with a scarf over his face who demanded the keys to his car. The man was carrying a knife in his right hand, and during a short struggle the victim received cuts to his left hand requiring hospital treatment.

The robber is described as a 5’10” tall medium build white male wearing dark clothing including a dark hooded top and dark scarf or facial covering with a light coloured stripe on it. The robber is believed to have approached the man from the direction of Studley Castle and ran off back in the same direction after the assault.
